The benefits of cold water swimming

Researchers from Cambridge University have discovered a “cold-shock” protein in the blood of regular winter swimmers at London’s Parliament Hill Lido. The protein has been shown to slow the onset of dementia.

Exercise is like a daily spring cleaning for your brain. Maybe the presence of the protein is because of a combination of factors like exercise, cold water and a sense community for these daily swimmers.
